I have now been a qualified fitness professional for 6 years, and boy what a 6 years it has been. I’m a firm believer that in the fitness industry you never know everything and the day you do, then your passion isn’t truly there or you’ve got such a massive ego that your head must be permanently up your arse!

I wanted to do the Zumba instructor course a few years previous, but for personal reasons I didn’t do it, plus I always wanted to be a qualified instructor before I did it! You may ask why… Well you wouldn’t go and see an unqualified doctor, and I wanted to know about the A&P side before actually teaching a class and potentially injure a client. Plus, I know that by being qualified my insurance will pay out if I make a claim. I trained and qualified with Instructability who I believe gave me the best training out there! I have continued to do various qualifications since and still studying now… never stop learning and adding different strings to your bow! The fitness industry is changing every day, just having 1 string may not work to your advantage. Also never knock the advice from a qualified instructor! Over the last 6 years, I worked hard to keep my knowledge up there, which I have to do when working as a disability fitness expert.

I have specialised in Disability and Rehabilitation. This is something I’m passionate about as classes and the gym have improved my own cerebral palsy. It’s the hard work and knowledge that led me to hitting the top of the fitness industry. And not by looking good on social media or tagging the brands bosses or influencers!

I have worked, and continue to work with many fitness brands / concepts to make them as fully inclusive as possible or to help create a programme. Brands include: Clubbercise, VeraFlow, Beatz and Seated Sosa. I have trained up instructors to teach Clubbercise, and presented seated Sosa at the top UK fitness conventions. This made me the first disabled fitness presenter in the UK.

I have had articles published in top fitness magazines, been on radio and continue to support 100s of instructors world wide on how to include disabled clients in mainstream fitness classes, how to work with them in a gym environment or as a PT. With all of this I have won a few awards and been nominated for many more! I have bigger plans and I am only just getting started…… As one of my clients says…. don’t mess with the PT with CP!
